US Embassy Baghdad Issues Evacuation Alert After Militia Drone Attacks Near Airport

The US Embassy in Baghdad issued a security alert after Iran-aligned Iraqi militia groups conducted multiple drone attacks near the Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center and Baghdad International Airport. The embassy advised US citizens to leave Iraq immediately via overland routes to Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, or Turkey, warning against air travel due to ongoing missile and drone risks in Iraqi airspace. The alert warned that additional terrorist attacks against US citizens and targets may occur throughout Iraq, including in the Kurdistan Region.
