Israel Launches Largest Coordinated Strike on Lebanon Since Conflict Began, Killing at Least 254
Israel struck more than 100 Hezbollah targets within 10 minutes across Beirut, southern Lebanon, and the Bekaa Valley in what its military called the largest coordinated strike of the current war. Lebanese health authorities reported at least 254 killed and 1,165 wounded. Netanyahu's office stated the ceasefire with Iran does not apply to Lebanon, calling the fighting there a separate matter. Trump echoed this position, telling US media Lebanon is a "separate skirmish." The attacks hit at least five neighborhoods in central Beirut without prior warning.
Striking 100+ targets within 10 minutes of the ceasefire announcement, then claiming Lebanon is excluded, indicates pre-planned operations timed to exploit the diplomatic transition window. The 254 killed in a single day exceeds any previous day in the current conflict. The contradictory positions on whether Lebanon is covered (Pakistan says yes, US and Israel say no, Iran says withdrawal if not) make this the most likely fault line for ceasefire collapse.
