USC Freshman Loses Eye After DHS Agent Fires Projectile at Los Angeles Protest

An 18-year-old USC freshman had his right eye surgically removed after a DHS agent fired a less-lethal projectile at him while he was photographing a "No Kings" protest in downtown Los Angeles on March 28. Attorney V. James DeSimone announced plans to file a federal civil rights lawsuit, saying the student was documenting the event, not participating. The firm has represented over 15 people allegedly injured by federal agents during recent protests.
